ST. PETERSBURG. March 6 (Interfax) - Gazprom (RTS: GAZP) and Rosneft (RTS: ROSN) plan to order the construction of 307 ships by Russian shipbuilding enterprises before 2030, Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin said at a session dealing with the development of civilian marine vessels in St. Petersburg on Friday.
This figure is taken into account by the united shipbuilding corporation's draft program for the construction of civilian vessels, he said.
This program envisions the building of about 265 ships for the fishing sector and 791 ships under the transportation system development program, Putin said.
"The federal budget is to appropriate certain funds for leasing under a number of projects," Putin said.
Russia's shipbuilding sector currently includes over 160 enterprises, 86 of which are state-owned, Putin said. Their sales amounted to 150 billion rubles in 2008. In addition, about 200 private enterprises are engaged in shipbuilding and ship maintenance, he said.
