Russian national security strategy to be adjusted for one more month

MOSCOW. March 24 (Interfax-AVN) - The Russian Security Council has made a decision to give one more month to adjusting a draft National Security Strategy in the period to 2020, Russian Security Council Secretary Nikolai Patrushev told journalists after the council's meeting on Tuesday.

"We need one more month to adjust the document. Principally the strategy will not change, but a number of corrections will be made," Patrushev said.

The discussion of the draft strategy and methodological documents has continued at the today's meeting, he said. "Although Security Council members had earlier agreed on the draft strategy, participants [of the meeting] made a number of proposals on how to improve it," Patrushev said.

The Security Council will have to synchronize all voiced proposals and select appropriate one within a month, because "many proposals were absolutely different," he said.
