Experts set date to start Kazakh-Russian border demarcation

ASTANA. March 25 (Interfax-AVN) - An eleventh session of the joint Kazakh-Russian commission continued to determine where to place boundary markers and have set the date for beginning the demarcation of the state border between Kazakhstan and Russia.

The next meeting of the joint Kazakh-Russian demarcation commission will be held in Kazakhstan in April 2009, a source at the Kazakh Foreign Ministry said.

The 7,500-kilometer-long state border between Kazakhstan and Russia is the longest land border in the world.

Kazakhstan and Russia completed the delimitation of their joint border in 2005.
