Over 30 Chisinau protestors hospitalized

CHISINAU. April 7 (Interfax-AVN) - Over 30 people have been taken to the Chisinau ambulance hospital after being injured in clashes between police and demonstrators during protests in central Chisinau, the hospital's on-duty physician, Yury Bazilyuk, told Interfax.

"Over 30 victims have been hospitalized. They include both policemen and young people from among the demonstrators. All of them have injuries of various severity, some are severely injured," Bazilyuk said.

All victims have received medical aid and are in a satisfactory condition, he said.

The physician denied that one person died. "This is not true. Someone is deliberately spreading these rumors. There are gravely injured victims, but none of them is in a life-threatening condition," Bazilyuk said.

It was reported earlier that about ten policemen had been hospitalized.
