MOSCOW. May 15 (Interfax-AVN) - Police officers detained two unemployed residents on Chechnya suspected of membership in illegal armed groups.
"Traffic police officers and officers of the district police department detained an unemployed member of an illegal armed group in the village of Serzhen-Yurt, Shali district at about noon on Thursday. He had been a member of the Mukhanne illegal armed group since this April," a source with law enforcement told Interfax on Friday.
In Grozny's Staropromyslovsky district, an unemployed local resident who is suspected of having been a member of Dudayev's illegal armed group from January 1995 to December 1996 was also arrested, the source said.
The investigation is underway, he added.
