European states show interest in Russian anti-terrorist grenade launcher

MOSCOW. May 21 (Interfax-AVN) - A number of European countries have taken an interest in anti-terrorist grenade launchers made in Russia, Deputy Director of the Federal Service for Military-Technical Cooperation Konstantin Biryulin said.

"These grenade launchers are in demand. A number of countries, including European ones, have taken an interest in them. I do not know whether they will buy the grenade launchers, but they have expressed their interest," Biryulin told Interfax-AVN on Thursday.

Earlier reports said that the Bazalt Research and Production Center has developed a unique system, which may be used against divers and pirates assaulting commercial vessels. The first commercial offer for the DP-46 was posted at the end of last year.

DP-47 can be used in enclosed space or onboard vessels, as it does not form a jet stream damaging to ship structures.
