UN SC resolution on N. Korea should be tough – Lavrov

MOSCOW. May 27 (Interfax-AVN) - Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov has favored adopting a tough resolution on North Korea in the UN Security Council; however, he stressed that there should be a search for ways to resume the six-party talks.

"The Security Council should speak resolutely and should work out such measures that in practice would help to prevent the further erosion of the nuclear non-proliferation regime," Lavrov said after talks with his Malian counterpart.

"We should find a way to create conditions for the resumption of the six-party talks in this resolution," Lavrov said.
