Militants detained in Nalchik

ROSTOV-ON-DON. July 3 (Interfax-AVN) - Two criminals blocked in an apartment on the fourth floor of a building in Nalchik have surrendered, a source with law enforcement agencies told Interfax on Friday.

"A man and a woman in the apartment surrendered without offering armed resistance and were detained. According to preliminary information, two Kalashnikov assault rifles and seven armed magazines were found in the apartment," the source said.

No law enforcement officer who took part in the operation was injured.

"Now the detainees are being identified, and their involvement in terrorist attacks in the region's territory is being investigated," the source said.
