Leningradskaya NPP stops power unit for planned maintenance

ST. PETERSBURG. July 6 (Interfax) - The Leningradskaya nuclear power plant, LAES, stopped power unit 1 for planned maintenance, LAES said in a statement.

"Power unit 1 was stopped for planned brief maintenance in line with a dispatcher's notification," it said.

Power units 2 and 4 are operating in a nominal 1,000-mWt mode, it said.

It was reported earlier that LAES had stopped power unit 3 for planned maintenance.

The power plant produced 14.397 billion kWt/h of power in January-June 2009, which is 4.8% more than the target, the statement says.

LAES, which is incorporated in the Energoatom concern, operates four 1,000-mWt power units equipped with RMBK reactors.
