Tajik charged with incitement of hatred in Russia

ST. PETERSBURG. July 10 (Interfax-AVN) - The Russian prosecution service said on Friday that it had charged a citizen of Tajikistan with incitement of hatred and hostility for allegedly disseminating a book preaching "extremist and terrorist ideas and views, which go against international law and the Constitution and legislation of the Russian Federation."

"On May 29, Shamsullo Iskandarov disseminated the book 'The System of Islam' by Taqiuddin an-Nabahani, which contains extremist and terrorist ideas and views that go against international law and the Constitution and legislation of the Russian Federation," the St. Petersburg branch of the Prosecution Service Investigation Committee said in a press release.

Iskandarov lives in St. Petersburg.

The book calls for the conversion of the world's entire population to Islam, for changing the political systems of various countries, including Russia, in order to have them incorporated into a world khalifate, for removing the current borders of states, and for ignoring international law, the release said.
