MOSCOW. July 13 (Interfax-AVN) - Russia's Progress M-02M cargo carrier, which undocked from the International Space Station (ISS) in late June, will be disposed of on July 13.
It will be dumped into the so-called Spacecraft Cemetery in the Pacific Ocean on Monday evening, a spokesman for the Mission Control Center outside Moscow told Interfax-AVN.
Orders to remove the Progress M-02M cargo carrier packed with refuse from the ISS from its orbit will be issued at 7:45 p.m. Moscow time. The spacecraft will then burn up as it re-enters the Earth's atmosphere and its remaining parts will fall into the ocean.
Progress M-02M is Russia's second cargo carrier equipped with digital control systems. Specialists of the Mission Control Center have been testing the spacecraft's systems and have been conducting maneuvers since it undocked from the orbiting outpost on June 30.
