Georgian-Abkhaz working group for prevention of conflicts to meet in Gali on July 14

TBILISI. July 13 (Interfax-AVN) - Georgia is seriously preparing for the Gali meeting of the Georgian-Abkhaz working group for the prevention of and reaction to incidents, which is due on July 14. The group was formed at the Geneva negotiations a month ago.

"This is a very important meeting, as it will enable the discussion of all problems of the administrative border," Georgian State Minister for Reintegration Temuri Iakobashvili told the media on Monday.

The Gali meeting will differ from the meetings held in the Chuburdkhinji village of the Gali district and be attended by Georgian and Abkhaz representatives, Russian peacekeepers and UN military observers, Iakobashvili said.

"The Chuburdkhinji meetings were held on premises of a Russian military base, and Russians were telling Abkhaz and Georgians what to do. UN representatives were mere observers," he said.

The working group meetings are not political; they tackle particular problems, Iakobashvili said.
