Interior Troops deny attack on their servicemen in Dagestan

MOSCOW. July 13 (Interfax-AVN) - No Russian Interior Troops servicemen came under fire outside the village of Karamakhi in Dagestan, Interior Troops spokesman Col. Vasily Panchenkov told Interfax-AVN on Monday.

"Reports claiming that a convoy of vehicles carrying servicemen of the Interior Troops was attacked near the village of Karamakhi at 11:40 a.m. today are not true. Our servicemen were not present in the aforementioned area at that time," Panchenkov said.

Four Interior Troops servicemen were wounded in a shooting attack on a convoy of vehicles near Karamakhi village, a police spokesman in Dagestan's Buinaksk district told Interfax earlier.
