Six killed in Mi-8 helicopter crash in Volgograd region - Gazpromavia

MOSCOW. July 22 (Interfax-AVN) - Six of the eight people on board a Mil Mi-8ANT helicopter that crashed in the Volgograd region were killed, a spokesman for the Gazpromavia air carrier, which owns the helicopter, told Interfax.

The persons who died in the accident include five passengers and one crewmember - flight engineer Alexey Subbotin. Second pilot Dmitry Puskov is in critical condition.

Gazpromavia's Mi-8 helicopter on a Volgograd-Kotovo flight crashed in the Volgograd region at around 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, a spokesman for the Lukoil (RTS: LKOH) company said.

The helicopter was carrying five high-ranking officials of the Lukoil-Volgogradneftegaz company.

"The administration and staff of Lukoil extend their profound condolences to the families of those killed in the air crash. Their families will receive all the necessary financial assistance," the Lukoil spokesman said.
