PHUKET. July 22 (Interfax-AVN) - Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov confirmed on Wednesday that several months ago Georgia expelled two Russian diplomats who served at the section of the Swiss Embassy in Tbilisi that represents Russia, and that Russia expelled Georgian diplomats in response.
"This was several months ago. The Georgian side reported that it was depriving two of our officials of their accreditation. We responded in kind. It was the Georgians themselves who asked us not to make that public but they did so themselves, and it's hard for me to say why," Lavrov told a briefing in Phuket, Thailand.
