Instability in Moldova postpones prospect of Transdniestria settlement - minister

MOSCOW. July 31 (Interfax-AVN) - Negotiations to resolve the conflict over the breakaway province of Transdniestria should not be expected to resume in the near future, Transdniestria's Foreign Minister Vladimir Yastrebchak told Russia's Ekho Moskvy radio on Friday.

"Growing instability in Moldova, the need to form new governmental institutions, and, finally, the election of a new government [in Moldova], in my opinion, do not yet offer grounds to restart this work in the near future," Yastrebchak said.

Any talks require a specific agenda, he said.

"Certain conditions need to be created for it," he added.
