MOSCOW. Aug 4 (Interfax-AVN) - An improvised remote-controlled bomb went off on Monday in Chechnya's Shali district near a police vehicle, injuring a police officer.
"An improvised remote-controlled bomb went off at the roadside near the village of Avtury at 11:35 a.m. on Monday, when the head of the district police department was traveling in a police vehicle. The blast injured the driver, a police officer," a source in law enforcement services told Interfax.
A 152-millimeter shell had been used to make the bomb, he said.
"The driver was hospitalized. The police department head was not hurt in the blast," the source said.
