MINSK. Aug 10 (Interfax-AVN) - U.S. Assistant Secretary of State for European and Eurasian Affairs Phillip Gordon is expected to arrive in Minsk on a one-day official visit on August 14, the U.S. embassy in Minsk told Interfax on Monday.
Gordon plans to meet with the Belarusian leadership and with representatives of Belarusian civil society, an embassy spokesman said.
On Wednesday, August 12, Gordon will pay a one-day visit to Latvia, the U.S. embassy told the BNS news agency.
The purpose of the visit is to discuss bilateral relations and regional issues. Gordon is expected to meet with Latvian Prime Minister Valdis Dombrovskis and Foreign Minister Maris Riekstins.
