MOSCOW. Aug 17 (Interfax-AVN) - Russian and Israeli presidents Dmitry Medvedev and Shimon Peres plan to discuss the situation surrounding Iran during talks in Sochi on August 18, a Kremlin source told Interfax.
"A number of pressing international and regional problems of mutual interest will be discussed in-depth during the visit, including the situation surrounding Iran, which Russia has been strenuously trying to unblock, using political means," he said.
The Sochi meeting, which will proceed in an informal atmosphere, is expected to allow the presidents to exchange views on the entire agenda of Russian-Israeli relations, the source said.
"It is the first visit to be paid to Russia by the incumbent Israeli president following his election in June 2007. Russia was last visited by an Israeli president in 2001," he said.
