Russian Air Force to be provided with UAV armed as latest fighter - official

ZHUKOVSKY, Moscow region. Aug 19 (Interfax-AVN) - The Russian Air Force will be provided with an attack unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) which will carry the same weapons with which the nascent fifth-generation aircraft will be armed, Air Force acting armaments chief Maj. Gen. Oleg Barmin said.

"Along with the fifth-generation fighter, the Air Force will receive an attack unmanned aerial vehicle capable of using the same weapons as the new plane," Barmin told journalists on Wednesday.

Russia is developing several types of UAVs both for the Air Force and other armed forces' services, he said.
