ZHUKOVSKY, Moscow region. Aug 19 (Interfax-AVN) - Russian enterprises are boosting their output of helicopters with a takeoff weight ranging from three to eight tonnes.
"One of the holding's key tasks today is to diversify its production range with the aim of entering the niche of the most commercially successful aircraft in the civilian sector [with a takeoff weight between three and eight tonnes]," a spokesman for the Russian Helicopters holding said on the sidelines of the MAKS 2009 air show in Zhukovsky outside Moscow on Wednesday.
"That is why the production range of Russian Helicopters should include the Ka-226T, Ansat and Ka-62 helicopters, as well as aircraft in a five-tonne category," he said.
