Air Force commander sure of good characteristics of Sukhoi Su-35

ZHUKOVSKY, Moscow region. Aug 20 (Interfax-AVN) - Russian Air Force Commander Col. Gen. Alexander Zelin said he has no doubts about the positive characteristics of the Sukhoi Su-35 the Air Force would receive within the next few years.

"I have no fear that we may receive an unfinished product. That is totally impossible. We will get a high-quality aircraft close to the fifth generation," Zelin told the media at the MAKS 2009 air show on Thursday, in comments on the August 18 agreement on the delivery of 48 Su-35 aircraft to the Russian Air Force.

The Air Force does not invest in the project, Zelin said.

"Sukhoi Holding builds the Su-35 with its own funds. The Air Force makes no investments," he said.

The experimental Su-35 took part in the MAKS 2009 air show flights. "The state tests will be over soon," Zelin said.
