Suspected killer of Dagestan’s top investigator identified

MOSCOW. Aug 21 (Interfax-AVN) - The authorities have identified the man accused of murdering Seifutdin Kaziakhmedov, a high-ranking official of the Dagestan branch of the Russian Prosecutor General Office's Investigation Committee, Investigation Committee spokesman Vladimir Markin told Interfax on Friday.

Kaziakhmedov was killed in the yard of his house in Makhachkala on May 21.

"O.A. Ramazanov was eliminated as a result of a special purpose operation carried out by servicemen of the Interior Ministry and the Russian Federal Security Service's branch for the Dagestan Republic. Mobile phones and electronic data carriers with video footage showing him and other people calling themselves "mujahideen members of the special department of the "Dagestan central sector" were found at the site where Ramazanov was eliminated," Markin said.

Ramazanov was identified by witnesses of Kaziakhmedov's murder, he said.
