TSKHINVALI. Aug 26 (Interfax-AVN) - South Ossetia says Georgian security services are responsible for today's explosion in Tskhinvali.
"Georgian security services played a part in the Tskhinvali blast," South Ossetia's State Security Committee chief Boris Attoyev told Interfax on Wednesday.
Georgian provocations in South Ossetia continue, he said.
"We warned about terror plots against our republic. Today the explosion occurred beside the school of music in the center of Tskhinvali. We believe that Georgian security services are thus implementing their plans to stage acts of sabotage and terrorism in South Ossetia, about which we have spoken already," Attoyev said.
Someone attempted to blow up a container with oil and lubricants near the boiler by activating an explosive device at 12:05 p.m. today, the chief security official said. The explosion claimed no casualties or significant damage, local law enforcers continue to investigate this incident.
South Ossetia's Interior Ministry reported earlier about an explosion in a gas pipe in central Tskhinvali.
A day earlier South Ossetia's State Security Committee made an announcement that Georgian security services were plotting terror attacks in the republic. South Ossetia police forces were put on higher alert following the incident.
