MOSCOW. Oct 5 (Interfax-AVN) - The Russian newest telecom satellite Express AM 44 is on display at the ITU Telecom World Show 2009 in Switzerland, which starts on Monday, the Space Communications Federal State Unitary Enterprise said.
According to the report received by Interfax on Monday, the enterprise representatives will present prospective heavy satellites Express AM 4, Express AM 5 and Express AM 6, which are being developed by Russian and European plants and will be put to orbit in 2011-2012.
"The enterprise has been a participant of ITU shows for many years. We believe that this exhibition helps strengthen the international position of the Russian state telecom operator and offers a good chance to develop constructive relations with foreign businessmen and international non-profit organizations," the report cited Space Communications Acting Director General Yuri Prokhorov.
Express AM 44 started to function in May 2009. It will provide telecom and broadcasting services to Europe, the Middle East, Africa and Latin America.
