CHITA. Oct 8 (Interfax-AVN) - The Chita garrison division of the Russian Prosecutor General's Office Investigation Committee has completed the investigation of the Mikoyan MiG-29 fighter accident in December 2008.
"The criminal case will be closed. The MiG-29 crashed in December 2008 for technical reasons," a division representative told Interfax on Thursday.
The jet crashed five kilometers away from the Domna airfield in the Chita region. The crash killed air wing deputy commander Lt. Col. Valeryan Kokorev.
Meanwhile, head of the Drovyanaya garrison investigation committee Igor Maximum reported the end of another criminal case, concerning the crash of a MiG-29 in October 2008.
"The criminal case will be closed. The plane crashed for technical reasons," he said.
The MiG-29 crashed during a planned flight, 60 kilometers away from the Domna airfield. The pilot ejected himself and was brought to hospital.
