BEIJING. Oct 13 (Interfax-AVN) - A recently signed agreement that allows Russia and China to notify each other of launches of ballistic missiles is important and will help promote confidence building measures between the countries, Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin said after bilateral talks in Beijing.
"It is an increasingly important step toward raising the level of trust toward each other and strengthening our strategic partnership," Putin said.
Russia and China signed a governmental agreement on Tuesday in which they pledged to notify each other of launches of ballistic missiles and space launch vehicles.
The document was signed by Russian First Deputy Defense Minister Alexander Kolmakov and Deputy Chief of the Chinese Army's General Staff Ma Xiaotian after bilateral talks.
The Russian and Chinese prime ministers attended the signing ceremony.
