MOSCOW. Oct 20 (Interfax-AVN) - Oleg Orlov, head of the Memorial human rights center, says that the investigation of the murder of Chechen human rights activist Natalia Estemirova has identified her murderers but he is not sure whether it will succeed in holding them liable.
"A month ago I got a feeling that the investigation knows who murdered Estemirova. It is a different matter whether anyone will be arrested," he told Interfax on Monday.
"I don't know what Alexander Bastrykin's latest words mean," Orlov said.
Earlier head of the Investigative Committee with the Prosecutor's Office Bastrykin said that the investigation of Estemirova's murder is nearing completion.
Estemirova was abducted in Grozny on July 15. Later her body was discovered in neighboring Ingushetia.
