Europe's sanctions against Belarus counterproductive - Lukashenko

MINSK. Oct 21 (Interfax-AVN) - Belarus is willing to build productive relations with Europe and is calling on it to refrain from the language of ultimatums and sanctions, Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko said.

"If you lift the sanctions, thank you, if you don't, thank you anyway. Perhaps this is more convenient to you. If you extend them again, we will see it as an attempt to suspend us again and get something from us. This is counterproductive and has no prospects," Lukashenko said apparently addressing the European Union at a meeting with Estonian Foreign Minister Urmas Paet in Minsk on Wednesday.
