Azeri, Polish defense ministers discuss future military cooperation

BAKU. Nov 26 (Interfax-AVN) - Azerbaijan Defense Minister Safar Abiyev and his Polish counterpart Bogdan Klich met in Baku on Wednesday to discuss cooperation issues, including military education and military-technical cooperation, the Azeri Defense Ministry's press office said.

Klick arrived in Azerbaijan on a formal visit on Wednesday.

Briefing his guest on the military and political situation in the region, Abiyev told his counterpart about the problems that arose as a result of the Karabakh conflict.

The Armenian occupation led to more than one million Azeri refugees and internally displaced people, while the talks brokered by the OSCE (Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe) Minsk Group, which have been led for 15 years now, have yielded no results, Abiyev said. In this situation the liberation by Azerbaijan of its lands militarily become inevitable, he said.
