KYIV. Nov 26 (Interfax-AVN) - A Zenit-3SLB rocket is planned to be launched from Baikonur Cosmodrome in Kazakhstan on January 29 to put in orbit U.S. communications satellite Intelsat 15 as part of the Land Launch project, the Sea Launch consortium's spokeswoman said on Wednesday.
The Ukrainian rocket is due to lift off within an hour after 2100 GMT, Paula Korn told Interfax.
Intelsat 15, a 2.48-tonne satellite built by the United States' Orbital Sciences Corporation, will be put in geostationary orbit and located at 85 degrees East. It will service the Middle East, the Indian Ocean region and Russia.
Intelsat 15 will be one of the Intelsat constellation of satellites and have a service life of 17 years, Korn said.
