Bomb disposal experts neutralize mine on gas pipeline in Dagestan

MAKHACHKALA. Nov 26 (Interfax-AVN) - Bomb disposal experts from the Federal Security Service (FSB) department for Dagestan have defused an explosive device that was found on the 518th kilometer of the Mozdok- Gazimagomed trunk gas pipeline in Dagestan's Kayakent district on Wednesday, the FSB department told Interfax.

The explosive device planted several meters away from the pipe was made out of a 12-liter zinc bucket filled with a mixture of ammonium nitrate and aluminum powder, it said.

"The bomb was equivalent to 10 kilos of TNT. It was provided with a clock mechanism. The bomb disposal experts neutralized it using a hydrodynamic destroyer [a water cannon]," it said.
