MOSCOW. Nov 26 (Interfax-AVN) - The Russian Pacific Fleet will take part in several international drills and exercises in 2010, including joint training with the U.S. Navy, says a fleet report received by Interfax-AVN on Thursday.
"Pacific Fleet servicemen will have important tests next year, such as the Vostok 2010 strategic command drill, voyages lasting for months in the Pacific and Indian oceans, and joint exercises with Asia Pacific countries and the United States," the report said.
"The training program of 2009 has been accomplished appropriately and in full," the fleet said with reference to its commander, Vice-Admiral Konstantin Sidenko.
In 2009, Pacific Fleet servicemen had about 130 training missions and hundreds of missile and artillery shooting exercises, while coastal forces had numerous field drills and over 1,000 parachute jumps.
