DELHI. Feb 19 (Interfax-AVN) - Russia will ensure the timely supply of the Admiral Gorshkov heavy aircraft carrying cruiser (Indian Navy ship Vikramaditya) to India, Rosoboronexport's Deputy General Director and head of delegation Viktor Komardin told Interfax at the Defexpo India 2010.
"There is no question about any prolongation of the aircraft carrier's supply to the customer. The Indian Navy has long been waiting for it. Russia has a firm intention to supply the ship, now called Vikramaditya, in December 2012," Komardin said.
A number of new contracts will be signed soon regarding the aircraft carrier, he said. "It should be noted that it will be a supplement to the existing contract," said the head of the delegation.
The Russian official would not disclose the prices stated in new contracts. According to the Indian sources, the extra sum Delhi is going to pay under the supplementary agreement will be about $2.3 billion.
Another contract that can be signed very soon is for the additional supply of 29 MiG-29K carrier-based fighters, Komardin said.
"All necessary details have been worked out," he said.
