Putin, Kazakhstan PM to discuss wide range of issues during meeting

MOSCOW. March 3 (Interfax) - Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin is due to meet with his Kazakh counterpart Karim Masimov on Wednesday to discuss various aspects of relations, the Russian government press service said.

Putin and Masimov, who will meet in Moscow, plan to set guidelines for cooperation between the space, nuclear, transportation and energy industries of Russia and Kazakhstan, for weapons trade, and for use of water resources of rivers that cross the Russian-Kazakh border, the Russian government press service said.

The two prime ministers are also expected to discuss the Russian-Belarusian-Kazakh customs union project, plans to set up a common economic space, Russian-Kazakh cooperation within the Eurasian Economic Community (EurAsEC), the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) and the Commonwealth of Independent States, and planned joint celebrations marking the 65th anniversary of the defeat of Nazi Germany on May 9.
