MOSCOW. April 6 (Interfax-AVN) - The commander of Russia's Ground Forces, Col. Gen. Alexander Postnikov, will be visiting the Russian military base in Tajikistan from Monday to Thursday, the Defense Ministry said on Monday.
"In the course of his working visit, Col. Gen. Postnikov will hear a report from the commander of the Russian 201st Military Base on the state of affairs on the base, the garrisons of Dushanbe, Qurghonteppa and Kulob. He will visit some of the infrastructural facilities of the base, and inspect the organization of combat training and the daily life of the Russian units," Col. Oleg Yushkov, spokesman for the Defense Ministry's Ground Forces Department, told Interfax-AVN.
Postnikov will pay special attention to checking the battle readiness of a reinforced motorized infantry company that will be involved in Rubezh 2010, a planned anti-terrorism command post exercise in the second half of April by the Collective Rapid Deployment Force of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CTSO).
The general will also meet with the Tajik defense minister.
