MOSCOW. April 8 (Interfax-AVN) - A new intercontinental ballistic missile, RS-24, was included in the maximum number of delivery vehicles permitted by the new START.
As of now, Russia operates RS-12M, RS-12M2, RS-18, RS-20 and RS-24 missiles, according to chapter 8, article 3 of the treaty posted on the Russian presidential website.
Earlier reports said that the RS-24 carrying up to four nuclear warheads would replace the earlier-generation RS-18 Stiletto and RS-20 Satan. There was no official confirmation of the new missiles being put into service.
