Progress possible in talks between Bakiyev, new Kyrgyz govt

MOSCOW. April 14 (Interfax) - Kyrgyz President Kurmanbek Bakiyev has said that progress is visible in the negotiating process with the provisional government, and that these contacts may produce results in the near future.

The Central Asian News Service reported on Wednesday that Bakiyev expressed this during a telephone conversation with UN special envoy Jan Kubis.

The news service quotes Bakiyev as saying that certain changes for the better have appeared in the negotiations with the provisional government and "the talks will come to an end today or tomorrow."
