DUSHANBE. April 19 (Interfax) - Tajikistan and Russia have developed relations of friendship and have no insoluble problems, Tajik First Deputy Foreign Minister Abdullo Yuldoshev told reporters on Monday.
"Relations with the Russian Federation are developing in the traditional spirit of friendship and reciprocal respect for national interests," he said.
"We have no disputable issues or insoluble problems with Russia."
Russia is Tajikistan's main trading partner and investor. Last year the country's presidents opened the jointly built 670-megawatt Sangtuda I hydropower plant in southwest Tajikistan.
"Russia will be a strategic partner for a very long time, if not forever. That is an invariable aspect of our foreign policy," Yuldoshev said.
Tajikistan conducts 24.8% of its trade with Russia. Bilateral trade grew by 7.8% to $130.8 million in the first quarter of this year.
