Man firing at police killed in Nazran, Ingushetia

NAZRAN. May 4 (Interfax) - A man attempting to attack policemen guarding a sports complex in Nazran, Ingushetia, has been killed by return fire.

"The incident happened at 12:30 p.m. Moscow time. A suspicious man tried to enter a sports complex, where a judo tournament was taking place. When he was being inspected with a metal detector, the man pulled out a gun and opened fire at policemen. The attacker was killed by return fire," an Ingush police source told Interfax.

None of the policemen or spectators at the sports complex were harmed.

Bomb disposal experts have arrived at the scene and are examining the man's body for an explosive device.
