MOSCOW. June 21 (Interfax) - Russian President Dmitry Medvedev will discuss Russia's bid to join the World Trade Organization (WTO) and international security during his upcoming meeting with U.S. President Barack Obama in Washington, senior Kremlin aide Arkady Dvorkovich said at a press conference on Monday.
Medvedev's two-day visit to the U.S. starts on June 22, he said.
"Most of the meetings will take place at the White House in Washington. The negotiations will concentrate on international security, security agreements and economic issues. Economic discussions will be broader than before," he said.
Medvedev and Obama will discuss science and technology cooperation and WTO issues, Dvorkovich said.
"His trip will start in San Francisco, California. He [the Russian president] will visit a number of companies based in Silicon Valley and the Stanford University the following day," Dvorkovich said.
The route is not accidental; it is a result of the priorities in the innovative development of the Russian economy declared by the president, the aide said.
"The president wants to see it all with his own eyes," Dvorkovich said.
Medvedev will also meet with U.S. business leaders, he added.
