YUZHNO-SAKHALINSK. Sept 6 (Interfax) - The Russian Security Council will discuss energy security in the fourth quarter of this year, Security Council Secretary Nikolai Patrushev said after the Monday conference in Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk.
"We need to know the opinions and positions of federal districts," he said in commenting on the Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk conference's goals.
The Far Eastern Federal District is located in a seismically unstable zone. "We discussed ways to ensure seismic safety for this region," he said.
Patrushev said that he would convey the results of the conference to the national administration.
"Proposals made by leaders of the Far Eastern Federal District will be taken into account at the Security Council meeting. We will also draft proposals for the Russian government," he said.
