Russian escapee from Tajik security service investigation ward apprehended

DUSHANBE. Sept 16 (Interfax) - Seven out of 25 inmates of the Tajik National Security Service's Dushanbe investigation ward, who ran away in the early morning hours of August 23, have been caught, a Tajik law enforcement officer told Interfax on Thursday.

The seventh fugitive is 27-year-old Ali Aliyev, a Russian citizen and a native of Dagestan convicted of a coup attempt in Tajikistan several days before his escape.

"We have seized Russian citizen Ali Aliyev. Details will be disclosed later, in an official statement," the source said.
