Medvedev reorganizes Armed Forces

MOSCOW. Sept 21 (Interfax) - Russian President Dmitry Medvedev has made a number of reorganization maneuvers in the Russian Armed Forces.

In particular, Medvedev relieved Vice Adm. Sergei Kuzmin, the chief of the Navy combat training department, from his duties and appointed Rear Adm. Valery Kulikov in his stead, the Kremlin press service said.

The president also dismissed Col. Vladimir Prokopchik, a deputy commander of the Russian Engineer Troops, and Cap. 1st Rank Vasily Shevchenko, the chief of the Pacific Fleet's technical department.

Medvedev additionally dismissed and discharged Maj. Gen. Alexander Stetsurin, the chief of the Volga-Urals Military District's automobile service, Maj. Gen. Alexander Yakushin, the first deputy commander of the Space Forces, and Rear Adm. Anatoly Lipinsky.
