MOSCOW. Oct 8 (Interfax-AVN) - Altair Engineering, a long-time NASA partner, has announced plans to cooperate with the Russian space agency Roscosmos and to share its advanced know-how, including under its lunar program, Altair Engineering's managing director for Central and Eastern Europe Detlef Schneider said.
Schneider said at a news conference in Moscow on Thursday that his corporation would be ready to implement joint projects with Roscosmos.
He also said that Altar Engineering was actively cooperating with NASA and the European Aeronautical Defense and Space Company (EADS).
The corporation's director for aerospace business development Pietro Cervellera said that one of the latest promising space projects was being implemented with the American defense corporation ATC, which also cooperates with NASA. The project is a descend module for the Moon. Altair Engineering was in charge of weight and load characteristics, and composite materials in this project, Cervellera said.
Schneider announced that the corporation's annual global revenue amounts to hundreds of millions of euros. About a quarter of the revenue goes to the aerospace sector, another quarter to defense, including ship-building, and half to all other sectors, including car manufacturing, Schneider said.
