Russia, Vietnam to develop energy, military cooperation

HANOI. November 1 (Interfax) - Russia and Vietnam signed a number of agreements on cooperation in various areas.

The documents were signed in Hanoi on Sunday as part of Russian President Dmitry Medvedev's formal visit to Vietnam.

In particular, the parties signed agreements on cooperation in the energy sector, defense industry, mutual protection of rights to intellectual products used in the bilateral military-technical cooperation.

Also, Zarubezhneft and Vietnamese partners signed a memorandum on cooperation in the framework of the Vietsovpetro joint venture after 2010.

An agreement was also signed to set up a VTB investment fund and the Vietnamese Bank of Investment and Development.
