NATO must clearly declare it doesn't see Russia as enemy - Lavrov

MOSCOW. Nov 1 (Interfax) - Russia expects that it will not be declared an enemy in NATO's new "strategic concept," or mission statement, that the alliance will approve at its summit in Lisbon this month, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said Monday.

"As for the question whether we feel that Russia is still regarded as an enemy [by NATO], you know, we don't have such a feeling," he told journalists on Monday.

"We expect that the 'strategic concept' that the North Atlantic Alliance will approve at its top-level meeting on November 20 will give an unequivocal answer to this question," Lavrov said.
