TULA. Nov 1 (Interfax) - The Tula Proletarsky District Court on Monday issued an arrest warrant for the man suspected of causing the road accident involving the car carrying Lieutenant-General Vladimir Shamanov, commander of the Russian Paratroopers Force.
"The court made the decision to arrest Dovlatsh Elbigiyev, 38, a citizen of Tajikistan, after considering the request made by the investigations department of the interior affairs department for the Tula region," Olga Dyachuk, press secretary of the region's Judicial Department, told Interfax.
On Saturday, Elbigiyev was charged with "violating the rules governing traffic and operation of transport vehicles resulting in a person's death." He faces up to five years in prison if convicted.
