Medvedev seeking Stepashin's reappointment as Russia's chief auditor

MOSCOW. Nov 3 (Interfax) - President Dmitry Medvedev has put before the State Duma a draft presidential decree to reappoint Sergei Stepashin as chairman of Russia's Accounts Chamber, the Kremlin said on Tuesday.

Stepashin, 58, has headed the Accounts Chamber since 2000. In 1999, he was prime minister for three months, and before that was justice minister, interior minister and director of the Federal Security Service (FSB).
