NALCHIK. Nov 3 (Interfax) - A local businessman was gunned down on Tuesday evening in Nalchik, capital of the restive southern Russian republic of Kabardino-Balkaria.
He has been named as Yusup Taukenov, financial director of a company called Kanatniye Dorogi Prielbrusya.
"Taukenov was asked to come outside from his property on Kalmykov Street [in the Volny Aul area] at around 9 p.m. Moscow time and was killed by an assault rifle," a local investigator told Interfax.
A criminal investigation into the murder has been launched.
